NM selling leftover deer and javelina hunting permits

NM selling leftover deer and javelina hunting permits

Hunters still have a chance to get a license to hunt deer or javelina in the 2013-2014 season. The New Mexico Game and Fish Department is holding an online sale later this month of more 2,500 deer hunting licenses and nearly 900 javelina licenses.

The department says that each year there are leftover licenses from the department's annual drawing for hunting permits, especially in the case of javelinas. Javelinas area hog species found state-wide.

The sale starts at 10 a.m. on June 26 and is open to all New Mexicans. An online account is required to purchase a hunting license; more information can be found on the department's web site. Permits become available for purchase by anyone, including out-of-state residents, on June 27 at 10 a.m.
