Developers raze Central Avenue motel | Business
Title (Max 100 Characters)
Another old motel along Central Avenue in Albuquerque bites the dust. Thursday, the city demolished the Silver Moon Lodge downtown near 9th and Central. But it's not just going to be a dirt lot.
Once the lot is cleared of debris, the owners hope to build a grocery store similar to a Sunflower Market. Owners say there is a void for a market in the area.
They also hope to build 20 apartments, and retail spaces, including a French restaurant.
The owners acknowledge one of their big challenges with the new development will be getting financing from the banks.
No specific grocer has been chosen for the proposed project.
