Old Town Plaza will host, ‘Weekend with Elvis’ starting April 5 at 5 p.m., ending April 6 at 10 p.m.
The King himself (Elvis Presley) actually came to Albuquerque in 1956, right before his song ‘Heartbreak Hotel’ hit No. 1 on the music charts. He performed at the Armory and stayed at the Bottger Mansion of Old Town Bed and Breakfast in Historic Old Town during his New Mexico visit. The public is invited to participate in the two day event, and arrive dressed as the king himself, or in 50’s-style attire.
Friday, April 5 there will be a karaoke concert for the audience to participate in and compete in the best Elvis singer contest from 5-8 p.m. Saturday, April 6 the day will begin with an Elvis trivia contest starting at 10 a.m. in the Gazebo.
The two day event is free.
The Old Town Plaza is located at 200 Romero NW.
